AED Readiness: The Simple Way to Be Ready

An AED only helps if it’s ready. Emergencies are rare, but when they happen, seconds matter. Readiness just means your device is easy to find and works the moment you open the cabinet.

Monthly, do this in a few minutes:

• Look for a ready/green status light; no beeps.

• Check pads are sealed and not expired.

• Confirm battery is installed and in date.

• Make sure the rescue kit is there (scissors, razor, towel, gloves, CPR mask).

• Verify the cabinet and signage are visible and not blocked.

• Update your log and note anything to order.

Assign one AED Owner per device and keep the same simple check every month. That’s it, reliable, repeatable, ready.
